Carey contributes on the tenor saxophone and vocals. He played tenor and baritone saxophones for the BYU Jazz Ensemble; tenor saxophone for BYU jazz combos; and has played in numerous local jazz combos for weddings and parties. As a High School Senior, he received the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award as the top jazz musician in his school.
A native Utahn, Carey grew up in the Provo/Orem area. He is married with a son on the way. He has worked and/or studied in Spain, Mexico and Peru. He graduated from BYU with an International relations major and a Spanish minor. He then graduated from BYU Law School in 2001, and is a licensed attorney in Utah.
